 Ok, I just started a model yestarday and it's all ok...now i need to put a turbulence noise map to a object, i set all the options and in the material editor the material i created is this: https://ibb.co/cBPUXw

Ok, the material in the image is just the thing i want but when i render a object with that map for some reasons this thing happen: https://ibb.co/dPB9Xw

  The problem is that: I want a object like the first image link...i saw many models like i want, some help please? I really need this.

Hi. TWo things:

1) The "size" value for your noise is far to high. Max won't always show the correct result in the viewport nor in the material editor. You'll have make test renders to find the right size.

2) I think the pattern in your reference picture is made by a cellular map (not a noise map)

Hope it helps

To help me assess the scale of the mapping when using a noise map I first like to use a checker map.  I can more easily evaluate the scale and if the type of mapping is correct.  I then change the checker map to a noise map.

Hmmmm... doesn't make much sense to me, since the checker-map is a 2D-map which requires a UVW-map and the noise-map is a  procedural 3D-map that works in object- or world-space.

But anyway.... this doesn't change what I wrote in my first post 🙂

Hope it helps

In the image below I converted the teapot to an editable mesh and applied a UVW Map modifer.  All the teapots in the top row have the same checkered material applied but with different types of UVW mapping (planar for the first two, then box, box, shrink).  The UV tile values for each object change as well.  The 4th teapot has a small value thus you only see one checker.

The 5 teapots were then cloned/copied to form the bottom row and a noise mapped material was applied to replace the checkered material.  The point in my previous post was that having the checker pattern helped visualize how the UVW mapping of the noise map was being applied more so than just looking at the amorphous noise pattern.  Although the noise pattern is procedural it still uses a tile like approach to fill an area.

Hi @Gerardo_Guarino;

If you'd like to achieve the same mapping in your Material Editor with your scene, please do the following:

-Go to the Noise channel of your material (in your case).

-Go to Coordinates

-Change Source type to "Explicit Map Channel

Kind regards;
