Hay all. Still working on my Mac/3ds Max issue. I am planning to buy a Windows machine and hopefully eliminating the recent frustrations. I'm on a tight budget, would someone please tell me if this machine is capable of smoothly running 3ds Max…. My concern is lack of dedicated graphics, thoughts? Better suggestions?
HP EliteDesk 800 G1 DM Desktop Mini i7-4765T Quad-Core 2GHz 8GB RAM 500GB Win 10… found a bunch of these on ebay.
Thank you all for your time and input.

Hi,
That's a nice price for such a small box. Unfortunately, yes, you really do need a decent graphics card;
(I would link to the offical hardware requirements, but they are woefully outdated, and the links are broken... perhaps someone could do an update?)

I had a look for external GPU caddies, and they are cheap enough... but you'd probably be only inviting trouble on yourself trying to get it to work.
Have a look for some tips here: http://www.custompcreview.com/pc-computer-builds/recommended-workstation-pc-builds/

Thank you again. I wound up ordering an HP Z420, 8 2.6g processors, 2tb storage, 16 gig ram and I added a Quadro K620. I'm waiting for a display to come in. Seems like it should work right? At least a good starting point. ALL I am using this for is just 3ds Max, Revit, and Invenotr or Solidworks. Wish me luck!!!
