i have problems using the keyboard shortcut toggle override in 3ds max 2017.
i use "C" for "Camera View" in the "Main UI" group and for "Connect Edge Settings" in the "Edit Poly" group. when hitting "C" while poly modeling, the "No cameras in scene" warning keeps popping up and the connect edge shortcut won´t work. when hitting "K" (my shortcut for the toggle override), the status bar reports "Plug-in Keyboard Shortcuts disabled/enabled", but the behaviour stays the same. the same thing happens with other shortcuts. all the shortcuts that are only used in one group work fine.
at the moment i am switching from 3ds max 2010 to 2017 (still win7 64 pro)and manually rebuilding and adjusting my UI. in 2010 the above procedure works fine, according to the max help ("If there is a conflict between a shortcut assigned to a feature and one assigned to the Main UI, when Override is on, the feature's shortcut takes precedence."), but 2017 causes the discribed probs.
is it a bug, has the keyboard shortcut toggle behaviour been changed, or am i missing some checkbox ?
any idea /help would be greatly appreciated, my workflow is very much depending on my shortcuts!

Hello @roberto.gagliano,
Welcome to the community!
I do have a note in the bug tracker specifically about the C key here in terms of Connect. It seems that the camera view window that pops up is currently bugged out a bit. As a matter of fact, the default hotkey for it isn't C anymore. (It's CTRL-SHIFT-E which is not very useful in my opinion.)
Here's what I did to get around it:
1) I changed my hotkey for the camera view first. (Whatever you want. I made it CTRL-SHIFT-E since I use the V hotkey anyways since the "Camera View" option is there too.)
2) Now you can make Connect hotkey "C" or whatever you'd like.
That should do it. I've found this works for me but I did have the same issue as you when I first started using it.
Please hit the "Accept as Solution" button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question. This lets me know that I was effective in helping you, and thank you for doing so.

hello alfred,
it is not only a problem with the "C" shortcut. i have the same problem with "A", "D", "E" and many others. i am quite aware, that i could change this by assigning other keys in the main UI group, but this is, what we have the keyboard shortcut toggle override for, right?
is this a reported bug? i cant believe i am the only one who uses the keyboard shortcut toggle override.
greetings
roberto

Hello @roberto.gagliano,
The issue I am describing only affects the C key according the bug report I read. So if you are having issues with others, than it's something else entirely. Are you saying that none of them work for you?
EDIT: If none of them are working, you may have a corrupted user profile, resetting your user settings might be necessary.

hello alfred,
i have a totally fresh 3ds max 2017 instalation on a brand new dell workstation with no other software installed, so my user profile should be virginal ; )
yes, as i said in my original post, the problem occurs with various shortcuts. just to name a few:
"A" (align in main UI, attach in poly editing)
"B" (box, bevel)
"C" (camera view, connect edge settings)
"E" (scale mode, extrude settings)
etc., etc.
max is my daily workhorse for modeling, i am strogly dependent on my shortcuts and your help.
are there any other reports on a broken "keyboard shortcut toggle override"?
thanks in advance for your advice

Hello @roberto.gagliano,
Can you please verify something for me? There is an 'under the hood' difference between an Editable Poly and an Edit Poly object. In your early post you'd mentioned that you were setting these keys in the "Edit Poly" group. Editable Poly objects are the lowest base object, whereas an Edit Poly is a modifier. Can you please verify for me that you are working on the modifier stack "Edit Poly" object?
I have a screenshot below. Thank you for verifying that for me.
EDIT: The C key is working for me as well, I wonder if this was the original source of the bug report I'd mentioned.
