how to turn fire (enviroment effects) on at a specific keyframe

I'm working on an animation and have created fire using MAX's built in fire effect in Atmoshphere (under the enviroment tab). I want to have the fire start on a specific keyframe but I cant figure out how to keyframe the start.

This has to be something simple that I'm overlooking.

Thanks,

Dean

Hello Pyro777,

I found this video online that might help you to set up the animation keyframe,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqQmwXCH6w8

Let me know if this helps,

Thank you.

Hi Keyner,

Thanks for the reply. No, that video didn't help at all. It has nothing to do with the problem I was describing. It was about very basic animation techniques. The enviroment fire effect is different than moving an object through time and space. Not all of the controllers on the fire effect are animatable for some reason like the "active" button.

I was able to figure it out however.

Thanks,

Dean
