Guidance and advice for Self-Sufficient 3DS Max learning?

I got a 3 year license for 3DS Max from my school and am looking to learn as much 3DS Max as I possibly can in these 3 years. I invested some money and had a blast learning AutoCAD for a year and am very comfortable with AutoCAD and AutoCAD 3D. I wanted to use Max and take random objects from the house and start modelling. Honestly, I became too ambitious and clearly jumped the gun. Overall the UI and navigation is very familiar but the programs are very different altogether.

I watched the How to Model a Table video from the AREA learning section of the AutoDesk. It was a series done by Brian Heagney and am moving onto his Shogi piece tutorial series. Aside from doing video tutorials, are there any guidelines to consider with self-sufficient learning of software? Any and all help would be appreciated. I'm looking to maximize and make the best possible use of these 3 years.

Hello!

Thanks for your question, and congratulations on your journey to become a 3D graphics artist!

There is an enormous amount of training material available online, both free and paid, for learning 3ds Max at your own pace. We've collated a quick list of resources to help get new 3ds Max artists started; could you please take a look at this and let us know if this helps?

Thanks for your time, and we hope to hear from you soon!

I especially like the Design Academy section of the AutoDesk site. Clear in terms of direction. Sectioned off into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced portions. Very organized in that regard.
