I have 72 cores, 128Gb of RAM, and two Titan RTX. I have invested heavily in hardware, but MAX is so slow. Opening the setup dialog takes 10 seconds and so does the material browser. When I pick a slot in a material, another 10 seconds. Sometimes when I drop down the modifier dropdown, it'll take 10 seconds. It is maddening! I guess it could be a V-Ray thing... anybody else?

yeah, it's painfull for me too... I have comparison between 3ds max 2012 and 2020 and 2012 has much better viewport performance than 2020. It is a shame for autodesk that they did not do anything to make it better with newer hardware

Yeah, I posted the same question on other forums and the consensus is, it is terribly slow. I mean, common Autodesk! It's like I am working with broken software. I have to move like a turtle, which costs me time, which costs me money.
