Hello. I have been trying to find the right combination of settings to get the 3dsMax glTF material type to export transparency correctly to be used with three.js import into Articulate Storyline.
If someone has a material sample they've created that gets good results and doesn't change color or have artifacts (as in the attached samples), I would be grateful for a copy of that material, or your suggestions for what might help.
Showing the actual object, preview, and settings: The cloudy white I see in (1) max default shader turns to black/dark color when viewing in Teams GLB viewer (2) or simply opaque when using the Windows 3d viewer (3). It is also opaque white when viewed in the three.js console. Using the Mask setting (4), causes the object to simply disappear in preview. It looks great in Arnold! (5).
(1) Max default shading preview and actual object
2. Teams viewer (HDRI probably making the dark color) Yes, I need to add double-sided here.
3. Same glTF in Windows 3d viewer:
4. Here's the glTF in Max using the Mask setting, which causes the object to disappear.
5. Arnold render looks good.
This different transparent object is showing polygonal breakup
which seems to be related to the material, not the model:
glTF in Windows 3D viewer:
Arnold looks acceptable with the same glTF material (low res image):
Hopefully that's enough to show what is happening.
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks,
