Hello,

i am now working on my testobject, to get reflection in 3dsmax under mental ray and ss fast skin.

zdtjudt.jpg

Im now trying to find out, WHY the render is white? After 10 hours of try and error, earlier it works! I did reflection on it WITHOUT the white of the render.

And i was happy! After 10 minutes, i try to make the scene new, and suddenly the white over the render appears again...

what is the problem?

Not easy to guess what the problem could be. If you can pack and attach your file here, should help.

I would suspect a misconfiguration of your background environment or the global lighting, both options in Environment and Effects.

Or, maybe a problem with your lights.

Don't look like a problem with your material, but nothing is impossible.

Last thing, i have a feeling there is a kind of a volume fog. Make sure you don't have any atmospheric effects configured in your scene.

Hello 😉

Thank you so much, that you want to help me out!

Yesterday i have tried it again and it worked and then, 1-2 minutes later, i turns white again in the render.

I use the normal reccomend 3dsmax grahic mode .

Hi, the "problem" that is entirely normal is your gray environment. This is how SSS reflect light and environment. If you want to confirm, try a fully black environment and you won't have this effect.

I can suggest this tutorial if you want good basics with this complex material.
