Creating custom button in attribute holder for polygon selection.

Hello there!

I have started playing recenttly with attribute holder, finding it very useful, although cannot find a way to solve one problrm...

I want to wire a custom button in Attribute Holder, to enable option of selecting polygons (like in edit poly modifier when we click icon to work in polygon mode). Want then to be able to change ID of selected polygons with spinner in Attribute holder, and then with one click of such button disable selection mode. 

But so far I couldn`t find a way or option to wire poly selection to that buton in wire parameter rollout. Is there a way to archieve that? Pereferably without any codes of script?

I have realised during this week that it is impossible to assign control of a sub-object level to a custom button in attribute holder without scripting it, was hoping for some work-arounds but after all the research I have done and no response I guess there is no other way than trying it with script.
