copying an object from one file to another

i am makiing a head in one file and other body parts in others . Is there  an official tutorial on how to bring them all together to one file ?

the method i am using is not stable . I am using save object as export and then moving it to import folder then picking into file but 9 out of 10 its not working yet it has once or twice image attached of successful attempt . Which is the correct way of doing it ?

I would recommend creating all the body parts in one file.

 

If this is not what you want, I would suggest using the File> Import > Merge tool, and just merge the separate .max files together. 

 

Why do you need the body parts in different files?

once i learn how to make a figure including proportions and clothing i am thinking of making one file per bodypart .therefore select head arm etc and create another figure . So if you have to build 40 humans in different aray and postions you just pick from stock and then free to modify posture . i wish to make 10 static military WW2  figures per country .
