Autoback painfully slow

I'm just wondering if 3dsmax will every have autoback in background like so many other applications have these days.

I don't want to turn it off as I rely on it, but having to constantly wait minutes to be able to work is painful.

Archicad has the best autoback, I don't even know it's even happening. If Archicad crashes, quick restart, asks if you want to load up the crash file and not a second of work is lost.

I don't know if you have an SSD (you probably have), but it's much less painful now I'm using these.

I use autoback, but I know people who just manually ctrl + s between 'jobs' when working with large scenes.
