Can't open 3ds max 2019

Hello,

I'm trying to open 3ds Max 2019, but it doesn't show on the screen. When I hover over the icon on the task bar I see the preview of the files (please see the screenshot attached), but they don't open if I click on them. Would anyone be able to advise how to solve it? Many thanks, Tatiana

bring up task manager, in there you can right click on 3dsmax and then either End task 3dsmax or use Switch to to bring it up if possible.

Hello! Thank you for your advice, but it I can’t find the Switch in the task manager dialogue box.
Please find attached the screenshot with what I have on the screen. I don’t need to End the task, I would like to be able to open the file in 3ds 2019.
Due to this issue I am not able to open my projects in 2019 version and I am currently working in 3ds 2018 instead.
It would be nice to figure out how to fix this issue, as I would like to switch to using 2019 version. Thank you!

I cannot see any service pack or any hotfixes to fix any errors you have. when you just open max without the file doesn't it open correctly or do you get any blacks in the viewports if so then that maybe down to you VGA cards not being setup in max link

VGA drivers setup insdie max

have you tried matching the system units and display units mergeing the old scene into a complete new one giving it a different name and see if that new file opens!

Hi irishman_team_kilber, the problem I have is that I can't even get 3ds
2019 to open. The Untitled file doesn't open, so I can experiment with
opening other files within 2019 version.
It looks like may be I need to uninstall and install it again...

have you tried instead of reinstalling it reset 3ds Max user preference settings back to default user profile?
