Backburner error

I keep getting the error saying  i/o error transmitting new job. And my Backburner Manager writes in weird symbols about the error. Please see attached. My keyboard is English and only English.

What would cause this error?

Hello,

Thanks for your message. There are several things that may be happening here (Backburner version mis-match, IPv4 vs. IPv6, etc.), so I'll run through our suggested steps.

  1. Reset Backburner to defaults on all your machines
  2. Make sure all your copies of 3ds Max installed on your Manager and Server nodes are identical (check their version numbers in your Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features). If necessary, log into your Autodesk Account, then download and install the latest update for each copy of Max on your machines.
  3. Download and install the Microsoft "Prefer IPv4 over IPv6" hotfix on all your machines and reboot.
  4. Make sure your submitted job isn't greater than 2 gigs in size (zipped). If so, the job will fail, since Backburner is a 32-bit app and cannot handle files over 2 gigs in size.

Please let us know if these suggestions help!

Best regards,

Hi Jon, thank you for your reply. I will follow the steps and will see if the issue is gone.
Regarding the file size....is there any AUTODESK alternatives that take larger files than 2 GIG?

Jon, it doesn’t work. I tried to send the file in parts, every time I merged more geometry into the scene. It worked till  some point. Then I started to get error:  I/O error with job archive. Why it is happening? All versions are same on the network.

Can you send the job without using the "Include Maps" option?

Thank you!!!

Well, it is a progress - it went to the farm....i got so excited! Small step for humankind! And then - caboom! error message File IO error with job archive. But Manager doesn't give those weird characters anymore which is a progress.

I attached the screenshots
