3ds Max Installation gets half way, then it freezes and says it'll take ages?

I'm trying to install the 2016 or 2017 editions for Windows 10 64-bit.

When it gets to about '8 out of 15 completed' it will freeze and the count-down will say something like '3560 days remaining for download'

My internet is fine, and before the freeze the countdown said that it'll be complete within an hour.

any help? I've tried multiple times and tried deleteing the program files on my computer with no avail

is windows up-to date? try this link https://www.cad-notes.com/8-autodesk-installation-problem/ see if it helps sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't

your using the wrong method of downloading/installing
