3ds Max 2025 - Interface shortcut keys Not working

Hello Everyone,

I am here to get some help regarding a very weird problem I have been facing Since Long time now.

Problem - 3ds Max Keyboard shortcuts Do Not Work when I create a new layer in Layer Explorer and Put objects into it

Explanation - I tend to create multiple layers of Objects to keep them as options, So that I can easily turn on and off to compare and show them whenever I need to.

But after I create a new layer and put an object into that, Suddenly Keyboard shortcuts stop working. For example Alt+Middle click for Toggle camera, Z Key for zoom, Ctrl+S for save Or any other Shortcut for that matter. Menu options do work, I can save a file through Menus. The only option I have is to save the file, Close 3ds max completely and Re-Open the file. Even Reset Command doesn't work to refresh it.
This problem is ever persistent since I have upgraded to 3ds Max 2025.

I request the community members to kindly help me fix this issue if someone knows how to fix it, Or have a work around this..,, I would be much obliged.

Thanking in Advance and Hope to get a Fix for this.

Maybe this is a case of Keyboard Shortcut Override Toggle?

Try switching that button MartinBeh_0-1774514557498.png to see whether it makes a difference.

Thank you for your response @MartinBeh .

Yes, I have tried the toggle button, But it doesn't work. Ultimately I have to close and Restart 3ds max.

You could reset/rename your ENU folder to see whether this is related to some UI settings of yours (Ctrl-S should still work afterwards, the others sound like you have custom hotkeys which will be reset, too).

I am currently on Max 2025.3.4, with the VRay plugin only and I am unable to recreate this issue.

Make sure Max and any plugins are up to date. Sometimes an update to Max may cause certain plugins to act strangely or stop working completely. This can go for scripts as well, so if you have startup scripts, try disabling them.
