Just a shot in the dark but maybe give sini forensics a try. It's free and can clean a lot of stuff out of your scene.

Hi,

Are there blocks, ray lines or ellipses in the DWG?
I always explode everything in a DWG before import to 3DSMax.
Ray lines used to crash Max, but I've not tried to import them recently, might be fixed.
Ellipses simply cannot be translated to 3DSMax, and Blocks act completely crazy.

:edit: Ahh, you're exporting, not importing. Hrmm

I don't have admin credentials, if this software or plugin is not of autodesk, i can't ask for it's installation. 😞

Hi,

Do you have a Dell PC, with Dell Optimizer, Power Management or Backup/Recovery System running?
https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Crash-occurs-on-so...

These processes may need to be stopped/uninstalled by your IT dept.

Hi,

It looks like you are saving to a OneDrive Synced Folder.
What happens when you try to export directly to your Desktop instead?

Hi,

If it is crashing without an error message, or customer error submission form... you can check:
C:\Users\*YourName*\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2022 - 64bit\ENU\Network\Max.log

Open that and have a look a the most recent few lines, see if you see anything that might give an indication what the error is. Maybe copy and paste the last most recent 10 lines here. It will not give away any unique identifier information.

Or you can check Windows Event Viewer: [Windows Button]+[R] -> Then type Eventvwr and go to Windows Logs -> Applications and look for a critical error level incident (red circle with exclaimation mark). See if any 3DSMax errors are there.

If we can't get to the bottom of this, I suggest giving the Laptop back to the IT dept and letting them fix it for you. It is currently preventing you from working and they need to fix it. Be it with the help of AutoDesk Support, or the Support of your Product retailer. Low level users (without access to Admin Rights) can only do so much, before it needs to be looked at by the IT dept. It's not your job to fix it, it's theirs.

Hi,

Doesn't look like any errors were logged. Did you have a look at Event
Viewer?

Ok, it's looking like a job for IT. I've heard about this happening before
on 2024, but did not see any resolution.

Tell IT to open a support ticket with Autodesk Support personal. They will
be able to remote into the laptop to investigate. Hopefully it can be
sorted soon. At least we tried.
