3ds Max 2017 Crashing within every 30 mins or so

Hello Community,

I am using 3ds Max Product Version: 19.0 update Commercial. And I am 3d modeler, and my 3ds max keeps crashing constantly. Need help from the Autodesk team to figure this out. How can I get a Log file for the error or crash? Please update me so I can submit my log file so you guys can have a look at it and suggest me a solution.

Thank you,

Sanjay karthikeyan

Go into the windows event viewer and click on windows logs and applications this will give you a reason why 3ds max is crashing, then click on 3ds max and the EV will give a error message or a warning and a short description of the problem and if you run that problem through google it maybe give you an answer, does the crash error ask you to submite it to autodesk? did you write that if you did then you post that Crash error reporting letters and numbers on here so autodesk tech support can do some reason and tell you the problem or give you a work around.

you can also upload the file and see if there is a problem with it, but if it's for a client and it's copywritted then autodesk empolyee can send you a private file so they are the only one who can view it.

Hello,

Thank you for sending your error report CER_160000935 to Autodesk.

We will analyze your report to determine how it can help us to improve our products and your experience with them. We will use the email address you provided to notify you when a solution is available.

If you want to contact Customer Support to follow up on this issue, please provide the error report number for tracking purposes.

I have sent a report to Autodesk as well. That is the report number if Autodesk people could look into my file information and let me know how to proceed further, will be much helpful.

And below is the log thing I was able to find, but I am not very sure if this is associated with the above crash.

that is a crash dump, try merging one model at a time into a new scene file, keep merging until it crashes then you know which model is causing the crash then start again and don't merge that model, you would need to remodel that model because that is what is causing the crash. once you have that new scene file then save it as a new file name and delete the old file. that mite fix the error. not saying it WILL

or try exporting it as FBX and re-importing the file into max

I did try this before. Like I did what you have mentioned here. I tried deleting and re-importing. Tried FBX format, Tried Obj format and creating new scene files each time. No of the solution seems to be working. Only good thing is, when ever the file crashes it does an "Recovery Save", so I haven't lost my work. But down the road, I feel I might lose my work though. Hope that never happens.
