I have this issue every time I try to export Object from REVIT to 3ds Max. While in REVIT most objects look fine, curved, and smooth and the edges are well defined, When I export to 3D s Max they just look crappy.
I have tried different methods, also exporting using FBX, DWG, DXF, and the edges looked fine, but curves or corners just don't look correct.
When I model something in AutoCAD using Solids, I can adjust the resolution inside 3Ds Max while importing, and everything looks great but withing REVIT I can find a way to control the quality of the sweep.
Please take a look at these screenshots, one is from REVIT viewport the other from 3Ds Max.
Thanks.
Maybe this helps.
If you go to File in Max then select Reference and then Manage Links.
Then click Presets at the top and select the preset that is right for you.
Then click Modify.
Here you can set the smoothnes under Geometry.
Then you can download your exported file from Revit under Attach.
Thank you for your answer, but that doesn't fix the problem, I already tried many combinations on those settings also when you link a REVIT to 3Ds Max and still same issue.
I am surprised that no more people are mentioning this, Maybe most users replace the furniture anyways.
My main issue is sometimes I get these models from the manufacturer so my only choice is to rebuild those parts.
You may need to change the setting in Revit before export at the bottom left to Fine and Realistic.
