So I had a macbook and I installed autocad 2014 and my professor does tutorials on her windows but when she tells me to draw a rectangle and click command + D and i do it on the mac it doesn't work. she also gets like a text bar that says length and width with it (on her windows).
none of this seems to be working on my mac.
help??!
Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!
Hi,
At first, could you clarify what do you want to do?
- Put dimensions of rectangle to the drawing?
- Just check information about dimensions?
If you need to check dimensions you need to use DIST command (just type D at the command prompt, hit Return and pick two points with object snap enabled to end point). Or you can use MEASUREGEOM command from here:
and get:
BTW: Ctrl+D on PC and Command+D combination on Mac - toggles Dunamic UCS ON and OFF.

In order to set thickness of the rectangle you need to edit it's properties in Properties Palette:
or use commands for 3D object creation - EXTRUDE, PRESSPULL:
