Visible edges in IDW

When I am creating views in my IDW, the black parts in the view do not show much definition so I changed the "Visible Edges" layer to grey colour to make the black parts stand out a bit better. But now if I create another view of a part with colours that are not black, they are harder to see. So my question is, is there anyway to have the "Visible Edges" in one view grey but in another view "black"?

Thanks

Not that I know of without manually selecting them all and changing their layers..

This is one of many reasons I don't do shaded IDW's anymore..

Kevin,

You are just going to have to play with the colors until you get a happy compliment of what you are looking for.

If this is something you do all the time, and would like to see improved in Inventor, feel free to place an idea here Inventor IdeaStation

make your black dark grey and keep lightening it until it becomes clear on the idw, also take a look at raster views, sometimes they look better, especially looking thru transparrent material, (component edges appear behind glass)

You only have 1 visible edges layer, so like mcgyvr says you'll probably have to do it manually.

If they are parts in an assembly you can "ease" this process by selecting the part in the browser, right-clicking on it to select "properties" and change the color for the entire part's visible edges.
(works on all levels, you can give an entire assembly grey edges while giving a sub-part green or whatever color.)

----edit----

Just gave this a little try, might be more interesting if you want to keep using layers.

If you select the part in the browser and then select "select as edges" from the right-click menu, you can change the layer for those edges.

So you could have a custom layer to change those edges too...
