Currently if you select multiple objects/shells and layout the UV's they all layout their UV islands onto their own UV tile. It'd be useful to have the option to layout multiple objects/shells onto the same UV tile.
My reason for suggesting this is that it'd massively help out the workflow between Substance Painter and VRED, without having to merge shells by material then layout the UV's, by which point I can't re-import that texture onto the original un-merged geometry as the UV's are different. I'm sure there might be a few other user cases for this too.
