Really fully spectral pipeline ???

I read about the spectral ray tracing being possible from VRED 2025.1 onwards.

Can anyone from the Autodesk team please confirm that when choosing this option, the full rendering pipeline (ray tracing using ies for lighting, axf for material, and also camera response) is fully spectral?

Reason I ask is that I heard users who thought that at some point before ray tracing is done inputted spectra are converted to predetermined standard spectra, or even only three color channels may be used, etc.

So please confirm if spectral ray tracing uses all spectral data from axf, ies etc.

VRED uses spectral data for all material and light colors and all calculations during rendering. The final accumulation of the rendered results and tonemapping is only done in RGB only, otherwise memory consumption would pretty much explode. AxF at the moment uses the older spectralTransformMatrix the measurement provides, not the newer per texture spectral transform. IES profiles are monochromatic anyways, they just scale the spectrum that is emitted. Rayfiles on the other hand can be fully spectral (but usually create a lot of color noise unless billions of rays are used).
