Perforated material

Hi there,

we started with VRED a while ago. Natively we model in Inventor. Now the problem came up that we usually do not model all punches in a perforated sheetmetal, but use textures instead for performance reasons or only displayed a small lot of the holes.

Now the guys who are going to render product images in the post process with VRED Professional complain that they need the true holes.

Is there any way in VRED to define a material that has a transparent perforation?

PS: I never got a VRED training, but it seems feasible on the first glance.

You can simply use a black and white image in the Transparency Tab of any material.
