Material hotkey getting stuck?

Hey everyone, 

I tried doing a quick search to see if I could find the solution to a problem I have off and on, but didn't see anything, so I thought I'd ask here. I'm using VRED Pro 2018.4. The problem I'm having is sometimes, can't really replicate it but happens randomly with projects, is when I use the Material hotkey to change materials between objects, it's like it get's stuck being on while not holding down the M key. The only way to get rid of it is making my viewing window smaller and shift right clicking in the surrounding area. 

Would anyone know what causes this issue and how to fix it?

I found some bugfixes in the backlog but not really related to what you are describing. Try updating to a newer VRED version to see if this still appears.

Hi, in addition to what @seiferp said, you can also check if you have installed other softwares that can "stole" hotkeys.

Nvidia Desktop Experience, for example, once installed is resident in the system, and manage many hotkeys, that doesn't works anymore in other softwares.

Maybe you have something that use the M...

@seiferp@Christian_Garimberti  Thanks for options! Unfortunately, these are work computers and can not get the latest version of VRED. Been asking every year since 2018 came out (just got that last year or late the year before). I was thinking that as well though, that it may be a bug that is fixed in a newer version. I checked for Nvidia experience app as well. I did not see that either. Our computers are pretty much maintained by IT, so we aren't allowed to add any programs ourselves, and I don't believe we have anything like that installed. We are in talks to try and get upgraded to 2021, but that probably won't happen until 2024 comes out, ha. If or when we do get to upgrade, I'll try to remember this post and post back if I come across this issue again. Thanks again!

@seiferp @Christian_Garimberti  So I think I found out what is causing it, at least in this project. I'm using a script which creates buttons on the screen. Which I think is vrMenu. So, the issue doesn't happen when I first open the project, but as soon as I use the one of the buttons to changeModel it causes the material to stick. If I run the script, without making any changes to it, it works again until I use the buttons again. Any info on that possibly?
