Hello !

I´m having issues with flipped normals on object, that contains vertex animation. It looks like two objects on same place, but it is only one object. When I tried to fixed this I hit button: "calculate normals" it fix the normals, but my vertex animation stucked and won´t play. Is there any solution to fix this isuue ?

Thanks a lot !

Tom

Vertexcache animations need to have the animations for the normals stored in the vertex cache as well since we don´t calculate them on the fly.

Thank You for Your reply,

I generated this vertex cache with maya, in maya it looks good, all normals has right directions, so it is weird that the issue appeared in VRED. Maybe I will try to remake whole model...

That´s because Maya always recalculates normals on the fly, as a modelling tool it has to do this anyways. VRED doesn´t do this because the normals that are calculated this way are usually not very accurate and since VRED is not a modelling tool we don´t have all the information available to do this calculation efficiently.
