@seiferp Have there been internal discussions about making this possible?
Or even the ability to set up a usage based licensing system allowing us to rent licenses by the minute/hour? So we could connect cloud based solutions like from Deadline or custom ones to point to usage based licensing servers?
Currently the shortest term option for scaling up vred usage with licensing is 1 month licenses. I am not even sure if 1 month licenses are available for Render Node version. So it is not very easily scalable unless you know you have a big long job. But then again with the Render Node version I am not sure if that is possible even for a month. I vaguely remember looking into it and it not being possible. It would be nice to get shorter term solutions to scale up when needed.
