is there a way or have you ever considered to implement a way to create fast reflection probes for Open GL?
I'm aware of the manual method of making a spherical panorama and setit as a custom environment for certain objects only, however a more "automatized" method would help a lot in the creation of the Open GL scenes.
I imagine a tool similar to the one implemented in Unreal Engine, where the probes are placed around the scene and they influence only the objects inside a certain range of the probe object.
In Vred, the reflection probes could be placed in the scene manually as placeholders close to reflective objects, and the probes could be calcalculated all at once at the click of a button automatically as pherical panoramas (using raytracing at a haf or lower resolution) and applied to the adjacent objects as custom environment maps automatically.
