AnimClip linking to Variant Set

I am using Python to create AnimClips and Vsets. While I can successfully create both, I am having trouble linking them together. I know there is an option to play AnimClips via a script within a Vset, but I cannot figure out how to assign the AnimClip into the Animation slot
