Viewport Ids not set when accessing Database

Hi

I'm trying to write a lisp routine that opens the DATABASES of  drawings and accesses the viewports in each layout to get the modelspace coordinates of what the viewports are looking at, so I was looking at the groupcode 69 and avoiding the 1 values but all the 69 groupcodes have a value of 0 since I can't set a layout active to initiate the Ids. It seems I can get the Viewport modelspace coordinates alright, but I can't determine which viewport ID would be set to 1 to avoid it. Does anyone know another way around this?

Thanks for the quick reply. After reading the post I've come to the conclusion that the one to discard is the one that when scaled is bigger than the title block. therefore bigger than the viewport I need. Not perfect but it will do for now.
