Viewbase defaults

Is there a way to modify the viewbase defaults?  Specifically, when I use viewbase the model tab opens and zooms to extents, then it enters into a select all mode and every part of the model is selected.  I then have to deselect all, zoom in and select the part I want to import into the paperspace tab that I have open.  Quite often the model is quite large and all of that zooming and selecting is time consuming plus the fact that I have to do it for each part that I detail which results in a lot of wasted time.  When the part appears in paperspace it is a some rediculously small scale so that it appears as a dot and sometimes I can't even see it.  There are probably a couple of other things I would tweak if I had access to default viewbase settings.  I know you can change some features each time you use the command but they revert back to default.  The changes aren't retained.

You can pick a point in model, enter a scale, jump to a layout with a mview, jump into view, zoom C pt dummyscale, then set that view to correct scale, using scaleXP eg 5XP. All done.

Yes can be done with a lisp. Have commented on this many times, google "Make layouts from Model Autocad lisp" if get stuck post again.
