using "standards" creates dimension overrides - any fixes?

HI,

we are using the standards command to convert/maintain our drawings to our standards. It seems that often, when we run the command, the current Dimstyle will suddenly get overrides. This is a problem, because for some reason killing the override does not always fix the drawn dimensions. I should add, that I originally posted this question to the AutoCAD 2016 forum and Mr. Saadallah recommended I ask in here as there is no vanilla fix...

So does anyone know of a method to alert the user when an override has been added?

Thanks!

I haven't used the STANDARDS command, but it sounds like you must have those overrides in the defined Dimension Styles in the standards drawing you're applying.  If so, can you have different standards drawings with different Dimension Style characteristics, so you can apply the appropriate one to a given drawing?

"Killing the override" will not fix already-drawn Dimensions that have their own overrides on top of their Style's base definition, but the DIMOVERRIDE command can for whatever particular setting(s) you want, or the DIM command, UPDATE option to force selected ones to match all current settings.

[If you want to be alerted if an override has been added through the use of STANDARDS, maybe a reactor can be made to watch for that, but I'm not versed in those.]
