Update Fields in a Table to New Object

Hi - Can anyone help please - I have a table of fields (Ref & Co-ords) in 4 columns associated with multiple Setting Out Point Block. I wish to copy the table & blocks, change their references & have the table update to the newly copied SOP blocks - I can go through each field in the new table one by one & re-associate to the new block - But I have 500 of these to process, 2000 re-associations. Does anyone know of a routine that will allow me select new block & re-associate to the copied field in the table

Many Thanks in advance.

Start with posting a sample dwg to take a look.

The issue is every item has a unique ID even down to a block Attribute so could pick a table cell, look at the cell string and select a block or an attribute, updating the field string. Note these 2 picks require 2 different methods a complication.

Need a dwg.

At this point, I am not sure what is needed.

If the goal is just to copy the table with the associated blocks and keep the links respectively (new table to new blocks), then it's easy to solve. Just copy the table with blocks into a new drawing and back. They stay paired.

Then I guess you need some tool to increase the value of the REF attribute. But that's another story.

Hi & Thank you for the reply. If you copy the table with fields & the setting out blocks, Change the SOP attribute reference  in the new blocks, the link is not maintained in the new table, you have to re-associate all fields again.

I see no mention that you copied the objects to a new drawing and back. Did you skip this step?

Thanks for the reply - No mention of another drawing at all- just copy table, copy setting out points in the same DWG, change reference of newly copied SOP's  - Now, this is where I'm looking for a routine to re-associate field info in table with newly copied block
