Tool Palettes created in AutoCAD not compatible with Civil 3D?

I have created our company Custom Tool Palettes in AutoCAD and share them across the network and all works well.

When I try to access the same palettes in Civil 3D I receive the error "Unable to execute the tool. Possible causes are..."

I assume this is due to application incompatibility..? Does anyone else know whether there is a way I could get these to work short of starting again..! In my previous role I created the palettes in Civil 3D and had no issues going back the other way.

What are on these tool palettes?  Is this just calling for a basic block insertion, or is it calling an in-house or third party command/function?

Are the tool palettes from the same version e.g. AutoCAD 2020 vs. Civil3D 2020, or AutoCAD 2021 vs. Civil3D 2020?  Does everyone have write access to the palette location, or is it read-only for most?

Hi R - Have you tried backing up your current toolpalette folder (look for it's location under the "Files" tab), then export the palettes from AutoCAD that contain only the toolset you are looking for? Perhaps you can create a custom tab just containing the tools you want from AutoCAD and right-click copy the tools to the new tab, name the tab then export the tab, then try to import that tab in Civil3D. I am not sure which AutoCAD commands might not be in Civil3D but I think there are some that might have a similar but different (modified) function. For instance, I'm aware that AutoCAD Mechanical does not support the annotative features fully that are contained in AutoCAD because AM uses a special detail scaling feature that conflicts with it.

If you were trying to simply add a second location mapping in the toolpalette folder files location I could see that it might cause issues with Civil3D.
