Status bar help string gone?

While making some changes to my custom CUI for 2018, I have noticed that there is no longer a command help string appearing on the status bar as I "float" over a command in a pull-down menu. (I am referring to the string that is entered in the command's "Description" field contained in the CUI. For example, if you float your pointer over File, New..., the status bar reads: "Creates a new drawing file.")  Has this feature (which I've always considered quite handy) indeed been removed (it seems to be intact in 2014, but I haven't checked '15, '16, or '17), or is my 2018 product perhaps merely malfunctioning?

Thanks for your help.

Looks like I might be SOL. (But, if so, at least I'm not alone.)

Found this after posting:

Can anyone confirm that in 2018 (and maybe back to 2015) products it is "normal" behavior for the "status bar" to not display "help strings" when hovering over a pull-down (POP) menu "command"?

'preciate it.
