Split file by layers

Looking for a simple lisp routine.

I need to split a DWG file by layer. Export each layer into its own drawing.

It can obviously be done by hand but I have to do it enough that its worth the time savings of a lisp routine.

In my head you just wblock out by layer and save the block name by DWG name + layer Name.

I searched the internet and could fine nothing that does this.

Thank you for your help in this matter.

Probably more than one solution you can find on web -- quick search of mine gave me THIS one by Cad Studio.

That works great.

Ironically I had that site open in another tab, but after finding 3 other solutions that all failed I gave up and went to Autodesk for help.\

Thanks.
