Dear Experts,

We have many solids from stl or IGES files imported into CAD.There are some solids in CAD which are made from Solid 3d operations done on these (unions, intersections , faceedits done)

Now we need the development plan of these solids(in scale) as if that is made with sheet metal folding. Is there any lisp routine available for this

Please help

My only client left is a vinyl swimming pool liner manufacturer (thank goodness I have found a regular job).  They use the technique of triangulating about any face of the 3D swimming pool slopes to derive the 2D shape of any portion thereof.  I programmed the process for them years ago which saves them substantial time and improves accuracy, but the conditions are somewhat consistent.  The walls may be curved in plan view, but are vertically straight, though sloped, at any point.  Their/my method wouldn't be able to handle vertical curves.  You would need a better brain than mine.  I wish you luck in finding the right brain.  I also expect that you should have a budget to acquire such expertise.
