can someone help in slecting the lines below my polyline. Basically, i have 1 polyline drawn exactly over several normal lines. now what do i want is that i select that polyline and with the help of lisp or command the lines which are directly below it gets selected. and my original polyline gets deleted. can anyone please help regarding this issue.
I think we need better images. Is the Polyline in question on the left the sort-of wide-question-mark [without bottom dot] shape in red? If I'm guessing correctly about that: Nothing shows as selected on the right. Would the selected objects include the red top edge there? It's confusing that the Polyline basis is the same color as one thing on the right that [I'm guessing] should be selected under it and also the same color as one thing that should not be selected. But the obvious approach [using the Polyline's vertices for a Fence selection] would select that other red thing, since that touches the Polyline path. But if it only touches it, do I assume correctly that it should not be selected, nor anything else that crosses it but does not lie along it?
Can you make new images, in which the Polyline in question is a different color from everything else, and in which the selected objects under it are shown as selected/highlighted/gripped, so we can see which they are?

This is my initial drawing in which i need the shortest distance between 2 points and the path that it traverses
Now i used Spath for that and while it was more helpful than most. it drew a red polyline (as shown in pic below) from P1 to P2 which gave me distance.
Now what i want that instead of polyline the path that i have drawn (the path that is below the polyline and exactly coincides with it) get selected because in that i have given separate names to the lines and i need that data.
So can u cook something up for this
