I'm trying to use unfoldrs which requires mesh type 0. however in the Mesh drop down menu the only mesh types to choose from are "smooth mesh optimized", "mostly quads", "triangles". Any suggestions or other ways to convert a 3d mesh to a flat pattern?

I believe that just gives me a 2d image of a 3d model. I've drawn a 3d wireframe of a square to round duct fitting. I need to unfold it to create a flat pattern that I can cut from sheet metal, to then form into an actual part. In older versions I would use unfoldrs lisp but it requires the mesh type to be 0. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

MESHTYPE sysvar is a before-you-create-that-content type setting, it has no effect after the fact plus other limitations

Is that what you are asking: how to convert your current mesh objects to legacy polygon or polyface mesh?

There are multiple versions of UNFOLDRS at Messages 12, 14 & 15 >here<.  I haven't tried them, but might one of them work for you?

Perfect! I suspected I needed to set the meshtype value to 0 before starting but couldn't find where. I just started typing in meshtype and it popped up. Thanks so much!
