Lint to part of an Excel file

Is it possible to link an object to only part of an Excel file?  Here's the situation, we have a flow diagram of sorts and would like to link a PLINE to a portion of an excel spreadsheet.  Then on another PLINE a different section of that same excel spreadsheet or maybe a different spreadsheet.  The idea is that someone could either hover over or click on a segment and the appropriate excel data be presented.  Just wondering if this can be done and maybe a better way to do it...

Hi Brian. While we can include a hyperlink to objects in AutoCAD, the link would be to the entire object; be it a line, polyline, etc. I know you posted this question in the AutoCAD forum, but if you're using Map 3D or Civil 3D, they have this type of functionality built-in. In fact, if you have a subscription to AutoCAD, you get Map 3D for free!

The tool in Map 3D is called the ODBC connections. Think about clicking on a business google maps which brings up info about that business. That's GIS at work. Map 3D is Autodesk's GIS toolset. Take a look at this video for reference. Hope this helps!

Thanks
