Hatch 3D Solid Cylinder

Hi,

I like to check if there is a way to hatch the vertical surface of the 3D cylinder. I am expecting suggestion to use Material instead but can't imagine customizing the material to match the hatch pattern.

Anyone have a way or a lisp that can do that will be great.

You seem to have answered your question.  You need to use materials.  Hatch is a 2d object that finds 2d linework.  The tiling pattern of a material can be adapted into a wide variety of basic hatch patterns.  If you need more than that, you may need to upgrade to AutoCAD Architecture, which has more advanced material handling.  AEC materials include a hatch pattern and a render material.
