What's in the Startup Suite is described in various places in Help as loading every time the product starts, that is when AutoCAD is first fired up, which I don't believe means in every drawing that's opened. That's why I've always used the acaddoc.lsp approach, which does load things in every drawing. [But it's also why I haven't tried putting something in the briefcase that I don't have in acaddoc.lsp, to see whether it ends up available in every drawing. Maybe it does -- my doubts are based on Help's description, enhanced by having heard the same from elsewhere in the past.]
