End Points of 3dSolid Cylinder

I am trying to get the end points of a 3dSolid cylinder.

The cylinders can be in any direction 3 dimensionally.

I just don't have a clue how to transform the PrincipalDirections, etc. into a centroid point and then into vectors.

Maybe it looks cumbersome and slow, but it works for all cylinders and only cylinder 3DSOLIDS... So I would give myself kudo for this one :

Hi Marko,

the code i've posted at message #13 will work as expected with your's  and SEANT61's sample dwg's, but exploding the original 3dSolid, it's always a possible workaround...

In this case, the XDATA is produced by a reputable professional software publisher, and I can say with certainty that it *is* reliable.  They've been good at support of legacy models, and if there were a radical change in the XDATA the program wouldn't be able to do anything with the existing models, so such a change is highly unlikely.

I was not referring to the 'software publisher' nor the software reliability...

The OP has stated:

'I don't have CADWorx. I am using files from come from another company'

what I meant by:

'I also don't like to rely on Xdata on dwg's which were not produced by me.'

is that anyone can manipulate XDATA, not the software, but some user, and not using the said software, just plain AutoCAD...

OP says "pipe", so it is hard to believe this will be the case... My lisp will ignore elliptical cylinders or any other 3dsolid which is not a proper cylinder.

Fair enough.
