Create polyline boundary around points

I need to select point objects then create a polyline boundary as in the attached drawing.

I actually started working on my thesis.

The goal is to build 2 polylines, one for each side, then join them and close and offset it outward by a user specified distance.  Since you want only an outer boundary, I am forgoing the bulgeolistics.

I am using the ShortPath tool for this kind of jobs. Works fine on your example. But just because the outer points are closer to each other than to the "opposite" points. https://www.cadforum.cz/en/download.asp?file=ShortPath
