blocks numbered insequential order with list of eastings/nortthings

gday,

I am a bit of a novice with autocad as I've only been using it for nearly 2 years and have only just upgraded to 2017 full version. I need help in laymans terms for me to understand, please. I know that can be frustrating so I apologize in advance.

My boss has suggested that in our drawings there is a way to link all blocks with a pline and it should number each block and produce a list of eastings/northings. I have been reading quite a few posts on this very thing but the answers given are all a bit above my understanding. I have tried to run some of the scripts that people have given but am getting nowhere fast.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Pete

Welcome to the forums Pete

Post a sample drawing showing a "before" and "after"

Would you mind posting the scripts that you think is the closest to your requirements and let us have a look at it.

pBe

EDIT: oops i just saw you other post :D.. so forget about posting the code and just show us an example in DWG format

Gday pBe,

Thanks for replying. Attached is an irrigation drawing consisting of sprinklers, valves and irrigation mains of a job we have done recently for a large aussie football oval and surrounds. I need to map the sprinklers only. I have left the legend on there for your guidance.

The scripts I tried using went nowhere as I was not sure where to amend them (or how to for that matter) to suit my needs.

Thank you kindly for taking up the challenge of schooling a novice.

Kind Regards,

Pete

Wow, that's a handful Pete.

If you are referring to this thread , in what way does it not suit your needs?

I cant tell from the sample drawing if is the AFTER or the BEFORE, it would help us if you can give a brief explanation on how you map the sprinklers

Help us help you Pete 🙂

Sorry,

I had taken scripts from threads from a similar topic. Not this thread.

The drawing is before. I have not tried mapping the sprinklers yet.

My boss has now decided to go in a different direction with this now so it looks like I wont be needing this for now. 😞

Thanks for giving your time. I hope It wasnt too much of a waste of your time.

Kind regards,

Pete

Can You post a sample of the result ? do you need to give every block a number then query the coordinates of them ?
