Not sure if this is the best place to create the post.  Whats the best way to appraoch the creation of a database within AutoCAD of stadard details based on keyword search.  What do I need to start the process.  It would be nice to include a preview (enlargement of detail ) of the results before bringing it into current drawing.  I know a little programming, little bit of LISP.  Keyword searches on this forum and internet have produced all the responses that I am not after.  Links to start the progress would also be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

This isn't directly an answer to your question.  It already exists if you use a vertical such as AutoCAD Architecture or AutoCAD MEP.  Even the contentexplorer can essentially act that way.

I have used AutoCAD MEP going back to the early version of Building Sytems and I am sure this wasnt built into the vertical.   Right now the way we access Details is a bloated sheetset manager which I think is highly ineffective.  I am pretty familiar with Content Manager and doesnt do what I need.  I think IMHO the content manager is still one the worst parts of AutoCAD MEP.  I have briefly seen this at other companies but the code is strictly kept under lock and key.
