AutoCAD 2015 won't snap hatches

In AutoCAD 2015 I cannot snap to a hatches.  The old OSNAPHATCH variable doesn’t work anymore.

The only solution for now is to invoke the INT snap override and click twice at the hatch intersection.  Of course this is very cumbersome.

Does anyone have solution for it?  If I am correct Autodesk hasn’t included it in either the SP1 or SP2 patches.

Thank you,

GS

Hi GS,

see the OSOPTIONS value, perhaps by modifying it to 0, 2, 4 or 6.

I looked and looked, but finally this solves the problem.

OSOPTIONS was set on 1  Either 0 or 2 works.

Thank you,

Hi Henrique

Darnest thing!!! The moment I got your advice I promptly tried it and it worked on several hatches, but after opening a new file it doesn’t even though it should. Today the same thing?

I did try several settings w/ different hatches to make sure it worked. It did, but only in the drawing I originally changed OSOPTIONS 1 to 0, 2 or 6

This must be an Autodesk curse for R_2015 or I am dreaming.

I am running Autodesk Building Design Suite Standard 2015 SP-1   Don't think SP-2 did anything about this conundrum.

Setvar Variables describes OSOPTIONS exactly as you say, except doesn't mention 6 which is a valid number:

Automatically suppresses object snaps on hatch objects and geometry with negative Z values when using a dynamic UCS.

The setting is stored as a bitcode using the sum of the following values:

0 Object snaps operate on hatch objects, and on geometry with negative Z values when using a dynamic UCS
1 Object snaps ignore hatch objects
2 Object snaps ignore geometry with negative Z values during use of a dynamic UCS

Hi GS

In this laptop I don't have AC2015...

'Setvar Variables describes OSOPTIONS exactly as you say, except doesn't mention 6 which is a valid number:'

did you click at OSOPTIONS << link

0, 1, 2, or 4

2 + 4 = 6

Hi GS,

unfortunately, it seems that SP2 has not resolved the SNAP issue...

A workaround shared by SReese1128 in this thread is:

@Anonymous wrote:

I just discovered that if you change the line type of your hatch to something other than "continuous"- like "hidden" for example- then OSNAP snaps to intersections in the hatch.

So, until a fix is created my solution to creating reflecting ceiling plans is to change the line type to something other than continuous while placing lights, etc and then change it back once finished.

Is just a workaround, but might be useful.
