Attribute Dataextraction (Template)

HI

I have the attached Files, wich are Blocks with attributes. I want to extrat the Information with _.-dataextraction using a General template to an Excel file. But this seems to be imposible. The template works only with the original dwg file, ande not with new ones.

Is there a way to do this?

Templates are drawing specific.  It is easy to use the dataextration command to use a template for one drawing as a starting point for another drawing but I do not believe such a process can be programmed. Thankfully, it takes less than a minute to set up a new dataextraction.

Less than a minute?!   Unlike you architectural types, he doesn't have all day you know.  He's probably got a thousand drawings from which to extract!  Everybody else does.

Yes thats the Point! I'm trying to make work easier for 40 employees.

We always have the same Dataextraction, and step through eight pages, when it could be done with one click is a big differents.

Is there no other way to do this? The objective is to easly count how many positions and lengths I have.

I think you missed John's subtle sarcasm.  There is apparently a .NET Dataextraction API but I'm not sure that it is accessible via AutoLISP

My suggestion is that you get your 40 employees together and show them how to do it quickly.

According to Doug (my most highly regarded contributor dating back to the
previous global warming), it sounds as though you have to write your own.

I've done stuff like that before, and there are many here more well versed
than myself. How about if you give it a shot, even replacing actual code
with remarks that describe what you are wanting to do, and maybe we can
fill in the blanks.

I don't want to jinx myself, but I may have limited time to help as I might
be gaining employment for the first time in 5 years. I've got to support
my cocktail hours somehow. They might even pay me more than the minimum
wage (unless they follow this forum).

And if I knew how to use .NET I could catch .FISH.

You can automate DataExtraction using .NET and run data extractions with no UI at all.

Unfortunately that's not something you can do from LISP.
