Customised input device not working in LT2018

I use a Kensington Expert Mouse trackball K64325 with an AutoHotkey script to customise the buttons, but I find that in LT2018 some of these customisations do not work - eg I had what was the right-click button set to double-click, and in combination with the pick button gave ESC, in combination with the old middle button gave ZOOM-Previous; now all of these revert to right-click only. The script still works as it should in earlier versions and in other programs running at the same time as LT2018.

The Right-click customisation in User Preferences is exactly as in the previous versions and changing the settings has no effect.

Is there some other location that governs mouse-button activity?

Saw a response to another issue where a problem was caused by running as Administrator - opened LT2018 'normally' and everything works as it should. No idea why it should be so, but it resolves my issue.
