Annotative line weights for different view port scales

Hello, first time creating a discussion on here.

When in paper space, I will have multiple view ports at varying scales of the same drawing.  Is there a way to have annotative line weights so that line weights in each viewport is scaled accordingly to that viewports particular size?

For example, lets say I draw a building section at 1/2"=1’-0” and I have a “border” line around the perimeter of the “section cut”.   The line weight looks great.  But in the next view port is the exact same drawing except scaled at 1/4"=1’-0”.  The text and notes all scale accordingly but the line weights stay the same and now the “border” line around the section perimeter is extremely “heavy” when it comes time to print.  We I draft in Revit this problem is automatically addressed and the line weights are scaled.  This has been giving me issues as I have been having to recreate the section drawing else where in model space and use different line weights to achieve the look I am after.

Please note.  I am not talking about taking a drawing that is set up to print on a 24x36 sheet and scaling it to an 8.5x11.

Hi,

>> Is there a way to have annotative line weights

Lineweights already are calculated based on paper, not based on model-size, so are like annotative.

Sample: an object with lineweight (bylayer or to the object) of 0.25mm is always displayed as 0.25mm independent of the viewports scale.

If you see something different then please upload the dwg-file with one sample showing differently.

It may depend on weather you are using the line weight of the layer or if you are using a ctb or stb that controls the line weight per color or layer.  If you use the line weight of the layers you can adjust layer line weight as overrides per viewport.
