hi all,

when using the AutoCad Color OLE control (acadcolor.ocx) under WinXP, I get
the following error message:
'Visual Basic encountered a problem and needs to close.'
and VB terminates. This error occurs when clicking the control, just before
it should drop down the combobox

Using it under Win98, no problems arise.

As an off-the-cuff suggestion, check what display-resolution is set on each machine.

Both machines use 1024x768 display
resolution.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant also "How many colors?", ie 16-bit, 32-bit?

It'll work under NT4 and Win2000, but I haven't been able to get it to
work under XP. Whatever it is calling probably changed enough with XP to
render the control 'unsupported'

hello,

WinXP uses 32-bit and Win98 uses
16-bit.

Tried 16-bit on WinXP. VB did not crash anymore,
but still the dropdown listbox did not appear.

regards,

WinXp was 32-bit, Win98 was 16-bit.

Changed to 16-bit on the WinXP system. VB didn't
crash anymore but still the dorpdown-listbox didn't appear.
